Maria Generoso, MSN, RN, APN-C
Maria Generoso works as part of the sub-acute rehabilitation team with Physician Specialists of Northern Jersey. Prior to completing her nurse practitioner degree, she was worked as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. She graduated from Drexel University with a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017.
Maria is currently practicing at Dellridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, where she provides care for patients requiring rehabilitation after their hospitalization. She also provides cardio-pulmonary and critical care consultations for patients who require closer monitoring of chronic illnesses such as obstructive pulmonary diseases or heart failure in collaboration with Dr. Jason Shatkin, Dr. Gross and Dr. Goa with whom she communicates specific needs or clinical changes patients may have in order to help prevent readmissions and improve patient outcomes.
Maria’s goal is to provide quality health care while also developing a bond with her patients and their families. She spends her time by listening to her patients and working to understand their needs fully. She makes sure to include every patient and patient’s family in the decision-making process so they can develop a plan that is mutually understood and agreed upon. She also provide personalized care in addition to evidence-based practice guidelines.
Maria attended Bloomfield College where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department for 10 years at various hospitals in New Jersey and 2 years as a Nurse Practitioner at Mountainside Hospital Emergency Department. Maria managed to work full time while pursuing her graduate studies at Drexel University and graduated with nursing honors as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society.
