Jennifer Porco, RN, MSN, APN-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer Porco has been practicing with Dr. Shatkin and Dr. Gross since 2014, initially as a member of the transitional care team, caring for patients post hospital stays in sub-acute rehabilitation. Jennifer cared for patients with advanced cardio-pulmonary diseases as well as other chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and osteoarthritis.
In 2017, Jennifer transitioned to caring for patients in our office setting with her focus being Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine and Internal Medicine. Jennifer works closely alongside Dr. Gross in the diagnosis and management of many rheumatological conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout and fibromyalgia. Jennifer also provides care for patients suffering with chronic pain due to osteoarthritis of the joints and spine. In addition, Jennifer works closely alongside Dr. Shatkin providing care for pulmonary patients. Jennifer has extensive experience in the management of COPD, asthma, small airway disease, chronic cough and obstructive sleep apnea.
Jennifer takes pride in providing compassionate care and developing close bonds with her patients while providing ongoing education and practicing evidence-based medicine. She looks forward to providing excellent healthcare, treatment and guidance for each of her patients.
Medical Professional Training
Jennifer attended Pace University in Pleasantville, New York for her undergraduate degree where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2004. She then went on to work at Hackensack University Medical Center for 9 years. Her experience there was practicing as a Registered Nurse on a cardio-thoracic surgery step-down unit, caring for patients post cardio-bypass and lung surgeries as well as those admitted with other cardiac and pulmonary conditions. While working full-time, Jennifer then earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Saint Peter’s University, New Jersey where she graduated magna cum laude in 2012.
