Elizabeth Drehwing, MSN, RN, APN-C

Nurse Practitioner

Elizabeth Drehwing works as a part of the sub-acute rehabilitation team with Physician Specialists of Northern Jersey. Prior to completing her nurse practitioner degree, she was working as a registered nurse on a cardiac telemetry unit and most recently achieved her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University.

Elizabeth currently practices at Van Dyke Rehabilitation facility, where she cares for patients requiring rehabilitation after their hospitalization. During their stay, Elizabeth will evaluate the patients while communicating progress or any changes with their primary physicians. She also provides cardio-pulmonary and critical care consultations within the facility for more acute patients in collaboration with Dr. Jason Shatkin. Elizabeth will continue to follow up on a daily basis with these consults in order to help prevent readmissions and improve individual patient outcomes.

Elizabeth takes pride in connecting with her patients while providing ongoing education and practicing evidence based medicine. She looks forward to providing excellent treatment, guidance, and care for you while you are transitioning to your next phase after rehabilitation.

Professional Training

After completing her undergraduate education at Sacred Heart University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Elizabeth went on to work at The Valley Hospital on a cardiac telemetry unit. She eventually went on to pursue her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Georgetown University where she graduated magna cum laude.
