About Us
The Physician Specialists of Northern Jersey was co-founded by Dr. Michael Gross and Dr. Jason Shatkin in February of 2016. Prior to opening PSONJ in Paramus, Dr. Gross and Dr. Shatkin worked together as part of a larger multi-specialty medical group in Fair Lawn NJ, where they were two of the Practice’s physician partners. Since 2001, they worked alongside one another until they decided to pursue the dream of opening their own medical practice. Dr. Gross and Dr. Shatkin work closely together to provide excellent care in their areas of expertise – Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care. Our full time Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer Porco, also works alongside the physicians – treating both of their specialties as well as seeing our patients for Primary Care/Internal Medicine.
As an independent Practice, our goal is to provide state-of-the-art medical care in a warm and personal environment. We recognize the privilege of being entrusted with each patient’s mind, body, soul and spirit. Our clinical and front office staff pride themselves in providing personalized patient care and ensuring patients have a positive experience during each visit.
Dr. Gross and Dr. Shatkin have been voted as Bergen County, New Jersey Top Doctors since 2022.
