Danjela Ago, MSN, APN, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Danjela Ago works as part of our sub-acute rehabilitation team with Physician Specialists of Northern Jersey.  Danjela previously worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center before joining our Practice in 2023.  She worked as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting since 2016, treating chronically ill patients with acute health issues, until becoming a Nurse Practitioner.  Danjela graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2022.

Danjela currently has privileges at CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue Rehab Center in Paramus NJ, where she cares for patients requiring rehabilitation after their hospitalization or post-surgery/trauma. While admitted in the facility, patients are evaluated frequently by Danjela so she can stay on top of any health status changes and communicate patient progress/updates with their primary care and referring physicians.  She also provides cardio-pulmonary and critical care consultations within the facility for acute medical conditions and chronically ill patients in collaboration with Dr. Jason Shatkin and Dr. Michael Gross.  She provides this comprehensive care in order to help prevent readmissions to the hospital and improve individual patient outcomes.

Danjela’s goal is to transition her patients from the sub-acute setting back to their homes by developing a plan of care custom to each individual patient using evidence-based practice guidelines, helping them be fully successful in their rehabilitation.  She spends quality time listening to her patients’ specific needs and concerns, making sure all aspects of care are met.  Danjela ensures to stay up to date on patient status changes while also providing updates to the patient’s family, including them in the decision-making process so they can develop a plan that is mutually understood and agreed upon.
